Tapas,24: “Worth waiting in line for tasty Tapas”

Barcelona has so many excellent tapas bars and small restaurants, on our last visit we tried a few but one, Tapas24, deserves a special recommendation and is definitely valued for a return visit. Is it because they let me standing 20 minutes in line? Or just because the staff is doing their utmost in order to serve quick and as many as possible guests? No not only, but the food quality is extremely good. Most tapas prepared in front of you, freshly dressed and tastefully flavoured.
After the previous day dinner in Comerc,24, the main restaurant from Chef Carles Abellan, we did not plan to go to Tapas,24 but the longest waiting line from our walk made me to curious. Chef Carles Abellan was for years the sous chef of Adria Ferran in his various projects, including El Bulli. When returning to Barcelona he decided to open his own restaurant, Comerç24. Today Carles Abellan is the driving force behind Group Projectes 24 which includes in addition to Comerç24 also Tapas24, Catering24 and restaurant Bravo24 in the W Hotel.
No fancy modern design but just an excellent atmosphere in a no nonsense look. The menu is printed on the cutlery cover and they work with a lot of daily suggestions on the billboard.
