Restaurant Aan De Poel is a fine dining restaurant located in Amstelveen, near Amsterdam in The Netherlands. Aan De Poel means ‘by the pond’ and guests will indeed enjoy a stunning view on the lake which faces the restaurant. The restaurant is housed in a big building just next to the lake and when weather permits, the big terrace opens and guests can enjoy their lunch or dinner only a few metres from the water. The location is also perfect for group dinners and for weddings.

The interior of restaurant Aan De Poel is spacious, modern and contemporary. Dark colours are mixed with white tablecloths and impressive flower decorations. The atmosphere is pleasant, trendy and dynamic and this is appreciated by a varied audience of diners.  The service in restaurant Aan De Poel is laidback still professional.

Chef and co-owner Stefan van Sprang and sommelier and co-owner Robbert Veuger manage restaurant Aan De Poel. Chef Stefan started cooking at a very young age and attended cooking school in Tilburg. He gained experience at restaurant Ron Blaauw, where he learned the art of fine dining. In 2007, the chef opened restaurant Aan De Poel together with co-owner Robbert Veuger. Robbert is responsible for the wines and serves the guests in a loose, casual manner. He offers a broad selection of wines from all regions in the world.

Chef Stefan van Sprang serves a seasonally inspired menu that changes every three weeks. The chef’s menu includes six courses but guests can also choose à la carte. A business lunch formula is also available. Chef Stefan van Sprang serves dishes full of flavour, based on his favourite products such as langoustine and foie gras.

Chefs Menu:

Crusty wholemeal bread with piccalilli

Aan De Poel is an interesting fine dining option when visiting the Amsterdam region in The Netherlands. In contrast to the bustle of lively Amsterdam, guests come to this restaurant to enjoy the relaxed and cosmopolitan atmosphere and the unique view of the lake. The powerful, delicious dishes by Chef Patron Stefan make the experience complete.
